About the Artist

Paige Meyer-Draffen is a multimedia creative, scholar, and community leader with a passion for art, media, and advocacy. A self-taught sculptor since 2022, they continue their artistic studies independently at Whittier College’s Wardman Gym. Their artistic journey began with a mix of formal training and personal exploration, earning them the highest art honor at Marina High School, the Golden Shield Award.

Beyond the arts, Paige is dedicated to media literacy and storytelling. As a Public Information and Broadcasting major with a 3.9 GPA, they are an active leader on campus, serving as President of Media Council, a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow, and a former President of the Black Student Association. Their leadership extends into student governance, event coordination, and academic research, focusing on the intersection of media and democracy.

 

Paige’s dynamic media experience includes managing KPOET Radio, where they transitioned from broadcaster to station manager in just three months. They also serve as a student ambassador for the Whittier Scholars Program and a residential advisor, fostering community and engagement. A sought-after speaker, Paige has delivered guest lectures at Whittier College and Caltech, sharing insights on media, culture, and advocacy.

Their dedication to social change is reflected in their work as a Cathy Standiford Creative Writing & Journalism Fellow, using storytelling to highlight marginalized voices. With skills spanning digital design, broadcasting, and leadership, Paige continues to push creative and academic boundaries, shaping conversations around media, art, and equity.
