Based in Huntington Beach, California, Ry is an emerging artist finding her place in the art world through acrylics and textured mediums. Her work reflects a lifelong connection to creativity and a desire to bring beauty, peace, and calm to others.

From a young age, Ry turned to art to express her feelings and find peace during a turbulent upbringing. Throughout high school, she embraced the training and encouragement her art teachers offered, finding solace in the classroom and getting lost in color and imagination. Although she was not allowed to pursue an arts education after high school, she continued teaching herself, determined to keep creating.

Over time, Ry experimented with different art forms and discovered a particular passion for textured mediums. Texture allows her to extend beauty beyond a painted surface, creating something tangible that can be felt as well as seen.

Her inspiration often comes from everyday surroundings. Whether it’s a funky coffee cup at Goodwill or a mesmerizing sunset over the ocean, Ry notices the shapes, colors, and small details that might otherwise go overlooked. She believes there is art all around us, waiting to be seen and shared.

As a mother of three young boys, Ry also makes creativity an important part of her parenting. Understanding the need for emotional expression, she encourages her children to explore art freely. She sees the creative process as a valuable part of their development and a meaningful source of comfort and connection.

In the spring of 2022, one of her children was diagnosed with complete liver failure, followed shortly by severe aplastic anemia. During that frightening and uncertain time, Ry turned increasingly to art to help quiet her fears and anxieties. Creating became a way to process what her family was experiencing.

Now, four years later and with everyone in good health, Ry recognizes that experience as the turning point that inspired her to pursue a career in the arts. Although her work has yet to be featured, she continues to develop her practice, creating with the hope of sharing her passion, perspective, and creativity with others.
